Chrome extension Local-first By Lingyi Labs

Stop saving. Start finishing.

Noya turns your X bookmarks into a calm place to finish them — one Today’s read on every new tab, a full reading list when you want it, and a private library with tags on your device.

Hiring for a founding designer who can own the whole funnel

Specific knowledge is knowledge you cannot be trained for. If society can train you, it can train someone else…

Your bookmarks are a graveyard.

You save threads you’ll “read later.” Later never comes. X buries them under a feed designed for the next post — not for finishing the last one you cared about.

Saving is easy. Returning is hard. That’s not a willpower problem — it’s a design problem.

Today’s read

Every new tab, one thing to finish.

Noya can replace your new tab with a calm ambient home: clock, search, and a single Today’s read from your X bookmarks — not the feed, and not a dump of everything you ever saved.

Default new tab. Turn it off anytime in settings.

Reading list

When one card isn’t enough.

Open the full open pool: Unread and In progress only. Done items leave this list and stay searchable in your Library with tags intact.

Secondary to Today’s read — press L from the home card.

Library & tags

Organize without breaking focus.

Flat tags for the topics you care about — hiring, essays, to-write. Reading progress is separate: finishing something doesn’t strip its tags.

Structure when you want it. Silence when you don’t.

Reader

A place to finish the thread.

Open a save in a calm reader: full threads, highlights, private notes, then mark Done. Stay out of the feed long enough to actually finish.

Highlights and notes stay on this device.

How I launched 3 products this year

I used to ship once a year. Then I forced a 6-week cycle and shipping became non-negotiable.

Local-first

Your library never needs an account.

Saves, tags, reading state, highlights, and notes live in a local library on your machine. Export a backup whenever you want. No Noya cloud in v1 — by design.

Privacy you can explain in one sentence.

On your device

  • Library · Tags · Highlights · Notes
  • Reading state (Unread / In progress / Done)
  • Export / import for backup

Optional cloud later — not required for v1.

Up and reading in three steps.

1

Install Noya

Add the Chrome extension. No signup.

2

Refresh X bookmarks

Use your existing X session. Bookmarks land in a local reading pool.

3

Read, then Done

Open Today’s read on every new tab. Finish threads without the feed.

Built for finishing — not for hoarding.

One focus card

New tab shows Today’s read — not a second graveyard of every bookmark.

Tags ≠ progress

Organize by topic; track Unread / In progress / Done separately.

Editorial, not SaaS chrome

Ivory paper, literary type — built to feel like reading, not a dashboard.

X today. More sources when they’re ready.

v1 focuses on X bookmarks and the reading loop. Next up for Western workflows: YouTube and Reddit. We won’t list them as features until they ship.

No account. No Noya server for your notes.

Noya reads bookmarks through your browser’s X session and keeps your reading data on-device. Read the details on our privacy page — including what permissions we ask for and why.

Questions

Does Noya need an account?

No. v1 is local-first with optional export/import for backup.

Does it replace my new tab?

By default, yes — so your queue stays visible. You can turn that off and open Noya from the extension icon.

Is my data sent to Lingyi Labs?

Your library (notes, highlights, tags, progress) is stored on your device in v1. See Privacy for permissions and X session details.

Do you support YouTube or Reddit yet?

Not in v1. They’re on the roadmap after X.

Is this a Totem clone?

Noya is inspired by the same job — help you read what you saved — with inbox triage, tags, and its own design system. Independent product from Lingyi Labs.

Stop saving. Start finishing.

Your bookmarks are waiting. Put them in a queue you’ll actually open.
